Best Practice Set for Recognition by THSP at Top Awards
The Health and Safety People is sponsoring a prestigious award to reward the best health and safety practice within the construction industry.
The Best Construction Contractors Safety Initiative is one of 16 awards up for grabs at The Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Wednesday 18 May.
The Health and Safety Awards has been organised by Building Magazine in association with the Health and Safety Executive.
Building on last year, the theme of the awards will once again be ‘respect for people’ issues in the construction sector.
The Best Construction Contractors Safety Initiative is aimed at mainstream or specialist contractors, and could go to a company, an initiative or a specific project.
The award is open to large or small firms, and public departments. The trophy will go to the entry that submits the best safety initiative, irrespective of their size.
Other categories include Best Public Safety Initiative and Client with the Best Commitment to Health and Safety.
John Thoday, Managing Director of The Health and Safety People Ltd, said: “There is an increasing emphasis on health and safety issues in the construction sector and very strong support from Government and the industry to help improve standards. Although the construction industry is working to improve its performance there is still so much more that can be done to reduce the number of deaths.”
