Integrated Policy Statement
The Health and Safety People Ltd is one of the UK’s most respected health and safety consultancies with around 900 UK and International clients. We operate a Head Office in Sandy, Bedfordshire and employ over 25 health and safety consultants throughout the UK, whose expertise covers all aspects of construction, manufacturing, service and leisure industries. This Integrated Policy applies both to our head office operations and to Remote Worker activities.
The Health and Safety People Ltd operates an Integrated Management System (IMS). This system meets, and where possible exceeds, the requirements of the international standards ISO 14001:2004 (Environment) and ISO 9001:2000 (Quality).
As a result of implementing maintaining and improving this IMS, we aim to
- Make a profit whilst ensuring the health and well-being of our staff
- To increase our impact among the major players
- To reduce our impact on the Environment
Our objectives will flow from the following three policies:
1. In order to reach our goals we will seek to discover how our clients perceive satisfaction and attempt to exceed it. This will be measured both in specific perception data and also implied data resulting from our current levels of customer retention.
2. Our people are vital. Only trained and motivated people can deliver a high value service.
3. Safety is our business and so all our staff both in or out of the office are always equipped and trained to carry out their task safely, efficiently and with due regard for the environment.
The Health and Safety People Ltd will ensure commitment to continual improvement for both quality of its services and its environmental impacts at all levels within the company. In our commitment to continual improvement we recognise that activities which could involve our clients and our compliance with current and future UK legislation are key to our business and these processes will be regularly monitored. Through the setting of objectives and targets The Health and Safety People will deliver continual improvement and prevention of pollution. We will also ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities in meeting the requirements of the IMS through provision of appropriate training
We will seek to reduce environmental impacts by
- both reducing and ensuring the correct disposal of waste:
- Implementing a sustainable transport policy to encourage all office employees and consultants to use alternative forms of transport where possible
- Meeting all relevant legal and other requirements through improved procedures and document control
Adrienne Massey, Administrative Director, is responsible for the Company's quality standards, and she has appointed Nicola Shea as the Quality Manager to be responsible for maintaining and implementing the Quality aspects of the IMS. John Thoday, Managing Director, is responsible for the company’s environmental standards. John has appointed Rachel Churchman as Environmental Manager (Operations) and Michael Clarke as Environmental Manager (Legislation) to be responsible for maintaining the environmental aspects of the IMS.
Those responsible for the IMS shall review objectives and targets at regular Management Review Meetings.
The Health and Safety People Ltd will communicate the integrated policy to all employees through staff Induction and training, to sub-contractors at point of purchase of their service and make it available by publication on our website (www.healthandsafetypeople.com).
