First Aid at Work Refresher

Course Duration Two Days including practical element
Who will Benefit Those employees who already possess a First Aid at Work certificate, which is still valid, in order to meet the legal requirement of renewing their certificate every three years
Aims of Training An overview of all subjects taught on the First Aid at Work course plus introduction of new techniques, legislation or guidelines that may have arisen since the delegates were originally trained
    Topics include:
  • Aims and principles of first aid
  • Prevention of cross-infection during first aid procedures
  • Basic life support (BLS)
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
  • Assessment and treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
  • Assessment and treatment of burns, poisoning and eye injuries along with common major and minor illnesses
  • Emergency transport of casualties
  • Legal aspects of first aid at work - record keeping and use of equipment
  • Maximum Number of Delegates 10 attendees is the optimum number as each individual is assessed

    This training is also run as a public course
    Resources Required Client to provide:
  • Training room to comfortably accommodate all the delegates with 240V power supply

  • Trainer to provide:
  • Training Equipment (course notes, first aid equipment for practical element and presentation package)
  • Clothing There is a large practical element in the course and the trainees are advised to wear casual clothes as there is a requirement to sit/kneel on the floor during some of the practical exercises
